DriveForge is a disk management application for Windows that runs from a single executable without installation. It creates bootable USB drives from Windows and Linux images, clones running systems to external or internal disks, and produces image backups with incremental restore points. It also recovers deleted files, erases drives and files, manages partitions, and reports drive health through SMART data and surface scans.
The program is developed by ForgeLabsSoft and has been available since 2019. It is written in C++ and distributed under the GPLv3 license. Releases are built from tagged source by GitHub Actions and include a cryptographic build-provenance attestation. The interface supports 17 languages, including right-to-left layouts, and core functions operate without an internet connection.
DriveForge contains no advertisements, telemetry or account requirements. It can write one image to multiple drives in sequence, build multi-boot USB sticks that hold several ISO files, and restore a system image to a blank drive while making it bootable. The application is intended for system deployment, data recovery, storage maintenance and hardware migration tasks.
| Builds bootable Windows installation USB from ISO WIM ESD | Supports legacy BIOS and UEFI across older and newer boards |
| Writes Linux distributions and arbitrary raw disk images | Handles iso, img, raw, bin, dd formats not covered by Windows builder |
| Ventoy-backed multi-boot USB stores several ISOs simultaneously | Boot-time menu selects image, eliminating multiple dedicated sticks |
| Writes single image across multiple connected drives sequentially | Each target erased, written, verified, ejected before next begins |
| Clones running Windows installation to portable or external drive | Produces bootable system copies with applications and settings intact |
| Saves entire machine to single wim image with incremental restore points | Scheduled unattended backups, bare-metal recovery after disk failure |
| Recovers deleted files on NTFS, exFAT, FAT filesystems | Deep-scan carving reconstructs files after formatting or corruption |
| Overwrites entire drive, free space, files, or system traces | SSD-aware implementation explains TRIM guarantees on flash storage |
| Creates, deletes, resizes, moves partitions, converts MBR and GPT | Partition table backup saved before risky disk operations |
| Reads SMART data with plain-language health verdict and temperature trends | Benchmarks speed, scans bad blocks, checks and repairs filesystems |
| Single portable executable without installer or uninstall step | Runs from USB stick where software installation is restricted |
| Core functions operate without internet connection | No advertisements, telemetry, accounts, or phone-home behavior |
| Interface localized in 17 languages including right-to-left layouts | GPLv3 releases carry cryptographic build-provenance attestation |
