GPU Monitor is a compact desktop tool for Windows that tracks the condition of NVIDIA, AMD and ATI graphics cards. It presents temperatures, fan speed, core and memory clocks, load counters and video memory usage in a single small panel. Graphs record how these values change during games, rendering and other heavy tasks. The gadget reads sensor data directly through the installed graphics driver, so no additional monitoring service has to be installed or started.
The settings area covers adapter choice, refresh interval, window size, temperature units, fan speed units, alarm sound, graph style and graph scaling. Users with two or more cards switch between them with the mouse wheel and keep separate configuration files for each adapter. Logging writes all displayed values to a file, which supports later review of thermal behavior. Overheat alarms give an audible signal when a chosen temperature limit is crossed.
Development started with version 1.0 and reached version 14.3 on 09/09/2026. Releases added support for newer AMD and NVIDIA cards, including RDNA2, RDNA3 and RX 6000 and 7000 series, corrected boost clock and memory controller reporting, and improved multi-GPU handling. Translations into many languages were contributed by users, and the code was refactored and reduced in size over time.
