Relic is a clipboard history manager that stores everything you copy in an encrypted local vault. It captures text, images, and files automatically, then makes them searchable through both keyword matching and semantic meaning. The application runs on desktop and mobile systems, with optional device synchronization through a server that never sees unencrypted content.
The software includes optical character recognition for screenshots, automatic detection and masking of secrets like API keys and payment cards, and local AI processing for tagging and captioning images. All machine learning components execute on the user's own hardware. Users can share individual items through expiring links or offline QR codes, and the command-line interface supports scripting and terminal-based workflows.
Relic targets users who handle large volumes of copied information and require verifiable privacy guarantees. Its encryption uses XChaCha20-Poly1305 with keys held only by the user, and the entire codebase is open for inspection. The project includes a self-hosted sync server option, weekly encrypted backups, and tools for developers to integrate vault access into custom automation.
