Windows Firewall Control is a management layer for the built-in Windows Firewall. It provides a system tray interface for adjusting filtering profiles, creating and modifying rules, and reviewing connection activity. The program does not perform packet filtering itself. All blocking and allowing decisions are executed by Windows Firewall based on existing rules. The utility adds notifications, learning mode, temporary rules, rule merging, duplicate detection, import and export functions, and protection against tampering. It supports standard user accounts and offers multi-language interfaces.
This utility is intended for users who require more direct control over the native Windows Firewall. It delivers four filtering modes that can be switched from the system tray. The program shows blocked outbound connection notifications, allows rule creation from those notifications, and provides access to recent connection data from the Security log. Additional functions include shell integration, global hot keys, invalid rule display, and unauthorized uninstallation protection. The program is compatible with multiple Windows versions and requires .NET Framework 4.8.
