ATLAS Audio Player serves as a local music collection browser with playback to both internal Windows audio and external network renderers. The interface centers on visual browsing of artists and albums. The application does not modify library files and operates strictly in read-only mode. Audio output for local playback uses WASAPI Exclusive, providing direct access to the output device. For network playback, ATLAS discovers and controls UPnP, OpenHome and HEOS renderers on the local network. Supported file formats cover major lossless and lossy codecs used in personal music collections.
The player functions as a control point for compatible home audio devices while maintaining local playback capability. A user can switch between local output through Windows and rendering to a network device without changing the library structure. The artist radio feature creates continuous playback from similar artists after an album ends. Direct folder playback removes the requirement to add music to the library before listening. Spotify Connect integration extends playback to Spotify radio and remote devices, with queue information shown during active sessions.
ATLAS Audio Player targets users with existing music libraries on local disks, NAS devices or media servers. The application provides format verification for both input and output, making the actual audio path visible during playback. Artist pages include biographies, images and discographies when available from the library metadata. Playlists and the queue operate independently from the source files.
