Ghostyak Boxes turns the Windows desktop into a set of task-based containers for shortcuts, files, and applications. The program does not move original items from their folders. Instead, it builds a visual layer of boxes that can be moved, resized, collapsed, and locked. Each box holds shortcuts to items that may live anywhere on the disk. The same item can appear in several boxes at once. When a monitor setup changes, the saved box positions for that display configuration are restored automatically. A photo box can show images as a slideshow without opening a separate viewer. The free Community edition has no box limit and no icon limit.
Ghostyak Boxes separates workspace organization from file storage. Files stay in their original directories, while the desktop shows only shortcuts arranged in boxes. Users can group related items by task, project, or category. Boxes can be collapsed to title bars to clear the desktop surface. The lock function prevents boxes from moving during regular work. Layouts are saved per display configuration, so a laptop screen and a dual-monitor setup each keep their own arrangement. The program runs offline and stores all settings locally. No user account is created and no internet connection is needed for daily operation.
