Greenshot is a desktop tool for capturing screen content on Windows systems. It records selected areas, individual windows, full displays, and scrolling pages. Captured images can be edited with drawing tools before saving or sharing.
The application supports direct export to files, clipboard, printers, email clients, Office programs, and several web services. Screenshots can be annotated with arrows, text, highlights, and blur effects. An OCR feature extracts text from images.
The software runs from the system tray and uses hotkeys for all capture modes. It maintains a low memory footprint and works with multiple image formats. The tool is distributed as a single executable with language packs for international use.
