Intessika targets people with several live projects, such as research, client work, writing or code next to documents. It keeps notes and files in one local tree and provides a cockpit per branch when the sidebar is no longer enough. It is not a markdown vault and not a cloud wiki. It treats a folder tree of mixed files as first-class, including Office and PDFs you do not rewrite, with Inbox capture and a per-node dashboard called Mission Control. No account is required, and the workspace is ordinary files on disk.
Intessika differs from cloud workspaces because content never lives on someone else's servers behind an account. It differs from markdown vaults because it handles Office documents and drawings you cannot rewrite as markdown, and annotates them next to your own notes. It differs from desktop search because it keeps the structure around a file: what it links to, what you last did with it and how urgent it was. It is not a team workspace: no shared cloud, no real-time co-editing and no permissions matrix. Mobile companions are planned but not shipped.
The product is positioned as a local-first tool where your data never leaves your device. Annotations and drawings on external documents are stored by Intessika, and the source file is never rewritten. Everything else lives as ordinary files in a folder you chose. You can inspect, move or delete the workspace with any tool. There is no sign-up and no network needed for core work. Update checks and optional crash reports are the only cases where a build may reach out. AI assistance is planned as an optional, opt-in feature and is not included in the current beta builds.
