LumiZoom is a screen enlargement utility for Windows computers. It magnifies the whole desktop, including the Start menu and other system menus, at a single consistent scale. Magnification follows the mouse pointer, and a coloured marker can be drawn around the pointer for visibility. Zoom level, tracking behaviour, and the global shortcut are set by the user. The program starts with Windows by default and remains available from the notification area.
The application is intended for people with low vision and for older users who require larger on-screen text. It avoids a separate magnifier panel and keeps the magnified image aligned with the actual desktop, so menus and dialogs open in their normal positions. An Esc key command returns the display to normal scale at once. The interface offers light and dark themes and three text sizes.
LumiZoom operates entirely on the local computer. It contains no telemetry, no analytics, no advertising, and no online account requirement. It is distributed under the MIT License and targets 64-bit Windows 10 and Windows 11. Installation requires administrator permission, and the installer includes everything needed to run the program without a separate framework installation.
| Whole Windows desktop enlarged instead of isolated region | Start menu, taskbar and system dialogs scaled only once |
| Animated transitions between normal and magnified view states | Configurable animation duration reduces disorientation during switching |
| Predetermined magnification factor applied on activation | Stored zoom level restored automatically on next launch |
| Visible magnified region follows mouse cursor position | Navigation across enlarged desktop without explicit commands |
| Optional centre-locked tracking keeps desktop region stationary | Reading fixed areas without view shifting on pointer movement |
| Independent adjustment of tracking speed and animation duration | Behavior tuning for different pointing devices and work styles |
| Configurable coloured marker drawn around mouse pointer | Colour and opacity adapted to low-contrast backgrounds |
| System-wide hotkey toggles magnification from any application | Default combination reassignable through settings panel |
| Light, dark and system-following interface themes | Applied to settings window and tray elements |
| Three predefined interface text size options | Labels, menus and controls remain readable for larger text |
| Interface strings localized across several available languages | Applies to settings, tray menu and notifications |
| Notification-area operation with main window hidden when idle | Startup launch enabled by default after sign-in |
| Escape key immediately exits magnified state | Direct recovery when pointer is difficult to locate |
| Single-instance enforcement activates existing process on relaunch | Prevents conflicting zoom states and duplicate hotkey registration |
