ShortsJet is a desktop application for producing vertical and landscape videos intended for short-form platforms. It combines timeline editing, automatic captions generated on the local machine, voiceover recording, beat detection, punch zoom, popup animations, freeze frames, transitions and text to speech in one workspace. Export delivers 1080p MP4 files along with PNG title images. The program targets creators who publish shorts, reels and tutorials and who prefer to keep their footage on their own computer throughout the editing process. Windows and Linux builds are available, and a macOS edition is planned.
The software places emphasis on local media processing. Caption generation, speech synthesis and rendering all take place on the user's PC, and footage does not need to be uploaded to a server to produce captions or a finished video. A media library browses existing folders, screen capture and video recording bring on-screen content into a project, and animated shapes, arrows, sounds and emoji stickers provide annotation and emphasis. A 30-day trial allows evaluation before purchase, and the planned license is a one-time purchase for one active workstation.
ShortsJet is built for creators who work with recorded footage and need to turn it into finished short-form video. The timeline supports trimming, splitting, speed changes and layered arrangement of video, images and audio. Music can be analyzed for beats so that cuts align with the rhythm, and titles and shapes can receive popup animation or punch zoom treatment. Color grading, blur, transitions and text to speech complete the editing stage, after which the project exports as an MP4 ready for publishing. The program runs on Windows and Ubuntu, with macOS planned.
