Apps2Samsung

Apps2Samsung — Free Download. Tizen App sideloading

Apps2Samsung is a cross-platform installer for Samsung Tizen devices. It discovers TVs on your network, signs apps with a reusable developer certificate, and pushes any .wgt package — community builds like Jellyfin, Moonlight, TizenTube, or your own — to Smart TVs, projectors and smart monitors. It also lists installed apps, acts as a network remote, streams debug logs, and can open a DevTools console for a running TV app. The Android version shares the same SDB engine as the desktop build, so fixes and features stay aligned.

  • Automatic device discovery. The program scans the local network and displays every Samsung TV that is reachable for installation. When a set does not appear, the tool reports the specific cause: Developer Mode is disabled, the address is wrong or reversed, or the television requires a power cycle before it will accept a connection. A manual IP field is provided for networks where broadcast discovery is blocked.
  • Single Samsung sign-in and certificate reuse. A developer certificate is generated automatically from one Samsung account login and stored for each television. Additional sets can be pre-authorized by DUID so the same certificate covers all of them. The user can switch between Public and Partner certificates when an application requires restricted privileges, and the correct type is selected automatically when the package demands it.
  • Installed app management. The application reads the package list from a connected TV and shows each entry with its real launcher icon. From this view any title can be launched, stopped or uninstalled. A leftover package that survived a failed install can be removed directly by its package identifier.
  • Remote control mode. Navigation, playback, volume, channel switching, power and text entry are available from a phone or desktop keyboard. Commands travel over Samsung's own remote channel rather than the debug port, so the remote works on any television on the network whether Developer Mode is active or not.
  • Jellyfin installation preset. Server address and automatic login credentials are written into the package at install time. A JellyThemes community theme or custom CSS can be selected, playback preferences set, supported server plugins patched in, and the YouTube trailer error 153 workaround applied before the app reaches the TV.
  • IPTV channel injection. Name and m3u8 stream pairs are added with a defined playback order. Every entry is validated and written into the TV application package prior to installation, so the channel list is present the first time the app starts.
  • Custom icons and display titles. Any application can receive a user-supplied PNG launcher icon, a wide 16:9 tile for Tizen 5.5 displays, or a different name shown on the television. The choice is remembered per app and applied during each install.
  • Device information and live logs. The tool reads DUID, Tizen version, model and Developer Mode state from a connected set. The debug log can be streamed into a console and saved to a file. An app can also be launched in debug mode with its console forwarded to chrome://inspect on desktop or displayed inside the Android build.
  • Backup and restore. Settings and signing certificates are exported to a single file that can be moved to another PC, a Mac or a phone. This removes the need to repeat Samsung logins on each machine.
  • Multilingual operation. Thirty fully translated languages are included. The active language is selected from the system locale at startup and can be changed at any moment without restarting the program.
  • Fault-tolerant installation. Errors are reported in plain language instead of raw Tizen codes. The tool detects active VPNs, subnet mismatches and certificates that are not yet valid, showing a countdown when relevant, and recovers from common failures without manual intervention.
  • Open development model. The project is distributed under the MIT license with no accounts and no telemetry. Releases are published on GitHub, an in-app updater handles new versions, and an optional beta channel provides early builds.

Apps2Samsung began as a personal utility for installing Jellyfin on a single Samsung television without opening Tizen Studio. The first public release appeared in 2024, written in C# on .NET with a MAUI shell for desktop and Android heads. Development is handled by an independent group of contributors who maintain the project on GitHub, share one SDB engine between the desktop command-line interface and the in-process Android implementation, and follow an MIT license. The 2025 Android release moved the phone build from a proof of concept to a full installer, added a DevTools protocol console, completed localization for all twenty-nine languages, and introduced .rpm and AppImage packages for Linux.
