  • AI Quiz Generator. ClassPoint AI reads the content of your PowerPoint slides and automatically generates multiple-choice, short answer, or fill-in-the-blank questions. The question difficulty can be aligned with Bloom’s taxonomy levels, ranging from simple recall to higher-order evaluation and creation. This removes the manual work of writing assessment items and helps instructors maintain a consistent pedagogical standard across different lessons. Generated questions can be edited before they are inserted into the presentation for use during live sessions.
  • Interactive Quiz Questions. Convert any static slide into an interactive activity by adding question buttons for multiple choice, word cloud, short answer, slide drawing, image upload, or fill in the blanks. Participants respond from their own devices using a class code, and results appear in real time on the presenter’s screen. All responses are stored in PowerPoint and can be reviewed after the session, which supports formative assessment and tracking learner progress without external platforms.
  • Gamified Star Rewards. During a presentation, the presenter can award stars to individual participants or teams for correct answers, thoughtful contributions, or displayed effort. Stars accumulate across sessions and feed into levels and badges that participants can see on their devices. This reward system increases motivation and sustained attention during long classes or training sessions by giving immediate positive reinforcement inside PowerPoint.
  • Levels and Badges. ClassPoint automatically promotes participants to higher levels as they earn stars. Each new level can be configured with a custom badge and title, such as “Science Explorer” or “Math Champion.” The level progression is visible to the entire group, which creates a sense of accomplishment and healthy competition. Instructors can reset progress per class, adjust the number of stars required per level, and choose which badges appear on the leaderboard.
  • Leader Board. The dynamic leaderboard displays participant rankings based on earned stars and points during the current lesson or across a course. The podium view shows the top three participants, while a scrollable list presents the rest of the class. The leaderboard can be shown or hidden at any moment, and instructors can decide whether to display full names or anonymized identifiers to maintain a fair learning environment.
  • Annotation Tools. While a slide show is running, presenters can activate a pen, highlighter, or laser pointer to draw directly on slides. Annotations remain linked to the slide until cleared, which is practical for marking key figures, circling important terms, or showing connections between ideas in real time. The tools work in slideshow mode without exiting the presentation, so the flow of the lesson is not interrupted.
  • Text Box Insertion. During a live presentation, the presenter can insert a movable text box on any slide and type additional notes, instructions, or answers. The text can be resized, recolored, and positioned anywhere on the slide. This function supports spontaneous explanations, live corrections, or gathering verbal answers from the audience and typing them for all participants to see.
  • Timer and Stopwatch. A built-in timer and stopwatch can be placed on any slide to manage quizzes, group discussions, or timed activities. The timer counts down from a set duration and issues a visual or audio alert when it reaches zero, while the stopwatch counts up to track elapsed time. Both tools help keep the class on schedule and make time limits clear to all participants without external devices.
  • Random Name Picker. The random name picker is a wheel that contains the names of all participants in a class. The presenter spins the wheel and it selects a name at random, which is useful for cold calling, choosing who will present next, or assigning roles in group work. This tool ensures that every learner has an equal chance of being selected and reduces perceived bias in classroom participation.
  • Whiteboard Backgrounds. At any point during a presentation, the presenter can switch to a blank whiteboard or blackboard background without leaving slideshow mode. The whiteboard supports all annotation tools, so the instructor can draw diagrams, solve problems, or sketch concepts from scratch. After the whiteboard is closed, the presentation continues exactly where it left off, and whiteboard content can be saved as a slide image for later review.
  • Draggable Objects. Objects such as shapes, images, and text boxes on a slide can be unlocked and moved freely during the presentation. This supports matching exercises, sorting activities, diagram assembly, or any teaching method that requires rearranging elements in front of the audience. The presenter can enable or disable dragging per slide, and the final positions can be captured as a new slide for documentation.
  • Integrated Browser. ClassPoint includes an embedded web browser that opens inside PowerPoint during a slide show. Presenters can display websites, videos, maps, or online simulations without minimizing the presentation or switching applications. The browser appears as a window on top of the slide and can be moved and resized, which keeps all teaching resources in one continuous visual flow.
  • My Class Management. The My Class feature lets instructors create and store multiple class rosters inside PowerPoint. Each class has its own participant list, star totals, levels, badges, and saved activity data. This structure simplifies grading, attendance tracking, and progress monitoring for recurring groups such as school classes, corporate teams, or workshop cohorts.
  • Slide Drawing Question. A slide drawing question invites participants to draw or write on the current slide image from their devices using a finger, stylus, or mouse. All submitted drawings are displayed as thumbnails on the presenter’s screen, and the instructor can select one submission to display full-screen for discussion. This feature supports visual problem solving in mathematics, diagram labeling in science, and creative expression in language arts.
  • Word Cloud Activity. The word cloud question type collects short text responses from the audience and arranges frequently submitted words in a visual cluster. Words that appear more often are displayed larger, which quickly reveals common themes, prior knowledge, or opinions within the group. The word cloud updates live as new responses arrive and can be saved as an image on the slide after the activity ends.
  • Fill in the Blanks Question. Instructors can create fill-in-the-blank questions where participants must type the missing word or phrase from a sentence shown on the slide. The system compares submitted answers against the correct response and can accept multiple correct variations. This question type is suited for vocabulary review, grammar practice, and checking factual recall in subjects such as history or biology.
  • Image Upload Question. With the image upload question type, participants can submit a photo or screenshot from their device as their answer. The presenter receives all uploaded images in a gallery view and can open individual submissions for discussion. This supports assignments that require visual evidence, such as completed worksheets, science experiment results, or design prototypes.
  • Export and Reporting. After each presentation, ClassPoint generates a report containing all participant responses, star awards, question scores, and attendance records. The data can be exported to Excel or saved directly inside the PowerPoint file. This reporting function supports grading, parent communication, and data-driven instructional decisions without maintaining separate grade books or assessment tools.

ClassPoint was developed by Inknoe, a software company focused on interactive presentation and education technology. The first public version of ClassPoint appeared in 2020, building on Inknoe’s earlier work with interactive whiteboard and response systems. The application is written in C# and integrates with Microsoft PowerPoint through the Office add-in framework.
