CorelClone Pro

CorelClone Pro — Free Download. Vector design

CorelClone Pro is a vector graphics and prepress application created as a free working alternative to CorelDRAW and Adobe Illustrator. It provides a classic five-zone layout with menu bar, standard toolbar, dynamic property bar, interactive toolbox and rulers, and keeps the familiar shortcut set such as Ctrl+Z, Ctrl+Y, Ctrl+D, Ctrl+G, Ctrl+Q, F11, F12, P and Esc for alignment and object control. The program handles vector drawing, bitmap tracing, text composition, print preparation and plotter output in one environment, and all calculations are performed locally so project files remain on the workstation.

  • Classic layout and shortcuts. The workspace reproduces the five-zone arrangement used in professional vector editors: menu bar, standard toolbar, dynamic property bar, interactive toolbox, and rulers around the canvas. The property bar changes contextually depending on the active tool or selected object, exposing stroke, fill, node and transformation parameters without opening separate dialogs. Single-key alignment commands are available during selection: C centers horizontally, E centers vertically, P places the object on the page center, while L, R, T and B align to the corresponding page edges. This structure reduces the time required to move between tools and settings during long editing sessions.
  • PowerTRACE bitmap vectorizer. PowerTRACE converts raster images in PNG, JPG and WEBP formats into scalable Bezier vector curves. The tracing engine analyzes color regions, detects edges and reconstructs contours as editable nodes. Presets cover logos and clipart, black and white line art, detailed logos, and high-fidelity illustrations, each with different color count and smoothing behavior. Background removal is integrated, so a subject can be isolated before tracing. Curve smoothing sliders control the number of nodes and the accuracy of the resulting path, and automatic grouping keeps traced shapes organized after conversion.
  • Contour tool for cutting paths. The contour tool creates an offset outline around selected objects, which is used as a sticker border, a cutting line for plotters, or a decorative frame. The offset value is entered in millimeters, so the resulting path matches the physical dimensions required by the cutting device. Corner logic can be set to sharp or round, depending on the material and the knife behavior. Multiple contour steps can be generated from one object, and each contour remains a separate vector path that can be edited, reordered or exported independently.
  • Fountain fill and gradients. The fountain fill engine provides interactive linear, radial, conical and square gradients. Color transitions are edited directly on the object with control nodes that define position, angle and midpoint. Classic Corel presets are included, such as Real Gold, Silver, Sunset, Royal Blue and Emerald, and each preset can be modified or saved with custom colors. The F11 shortcut opens the fill settings, and F12 opens the outline settings, matching the conventional workflow of vector editors. Gradients remain vector data and are preserved during export to PDF and SVG.
  • PowerClip container. PowerClip places a bitmap or a group of vector objects inside an arbitrary shape, which acts as a container or mask. The content can be positioned, scaled and rotated inside the frame without being permanently rasterized. A one-click extract command returns the content to the canvas in its original state. This function is used for photographic fills inside text, complex masks for packaging design, and cropping images into non-rectangular forms while keeping the source data editable.
  • Text on path. Text on path binds live typography to circles, ellipses and freeform Bezier curves. The text remains editable after placement, and the offset control moves the baseline along the path. Additional parameters define the starting position, the distance from the path, and whether the text follows the direction of the curve or is reversed. This function is applied to badges, seals, circular logos and decorative headings where the type must follow a specific contour.
  • Vector QR code generator. The QR generator inserts scalable SVG QR codes directly into the document. Supported content types include URLs, WhatsApp links, PIX payment strings and Wi-Fi credentials. Error correction levels can be selected to balance data redundancy and code density, and the background can be set to transparent so the code integrates with the surrounding design. Because the output is vector, the code remains sharp at any print size and can be recolored without losing readability.
  • Bleed and prepress marks. Prepress preparation includes bleed settings of 0 mm, 3 mm standard offset and 5 mm for large format work. Automatic guillotine crop marks are placed at the correct positions, together with CMYK registration targets, calibration color bars and a job timestamp. These elements are generated as separate objects on a dedicated layer, so they can be reviewed or removed before final output. The result matches the requirements of commercial print production and reduces manual setup before sending a file to a print house.
  • CDR import with Bezier fidelity. The native engine opens CDR files with full Bezier node data and original layers preserved for editing. Curves, fills and object structure remain intact after import, so existing CorelDRAW projects can be continued without rebuilding artwork. Layer names and grouping are retained, and objects can be modified with the same node and shape tools used for newly created content. This function supports migration from proprietary formats to an environment that does not depend on a subscription license.
  • Export for print and web. Documents can be exported as print-ready vector PDF, clean SVG or high-resolution PNG at 300 DPI. PDF output retains vector paths, embedded fonts and prepress marks, while SVG produces compact code suitable for web use and further editing in other vector applications. PNG export controls resolution and background transparency. Each format preserves the object structure where possible, so the same document can serve both physical production and digital distribution.
  • Desktop and web deployment. The application runs as a zero-install WebApp or PWA in the browser and as an installable desktop program for Windows in EXE format, macOS in DMG format and Linux in AppImage format. A local bridge on port 54321 connects the browser interface with the desktop engine when the Python bridge script is running. Interface language can be switched between Portuguese and English, and the selected state is retained between sessions. Project data is processed on the local machine, and files are not uploaded to external servers.

CorelClone Pro was developed as an independent project focused on vector editing and prepress production for designers, sign makers, prepress technicians and illustrators. Development started in the early 2020s, when the first internal builds combined a browser-based canvas with a local processing engine written in JavaScript and Python. The JavaScript layer handles the interface, rendering and vector calculations, while Python provides the desktop bridge and file operations. The team is composed of developers and graphic production specialists who previously worked with CorelDRAW and Adobe Illustrator in print and signage environments. The first public releases concentrated on CDR import and Bezier editing, and later versions added PowerTRACE, contour cutting paths, prepress marks and the QR generator.
