InfoHUD Pro — Free Download. Floating desktop info

InfoHUD Pro is a Windows utility that keeps essential information visible on your desktop as floating HUD panels. The program supports text notes, Excel ranges and cells, Word content, Office charts, images, screenshots, web pages, and PDF pages. Each HUD operates as an independent window that can be moved, resized, kept always on top, locked in position, and shown or hidden with global controls. Multiple HUDs can run simultaneously, making the program suitable for multitasking, reference work, study, monitoring tasks, and dual-monitor or multi-monitor configurations. InfoHUD Pro runs on Windows 10 and Windows 11 and offers a 7-day free trial.

  • Text HUD. The Text HUD function turns plain text notes, reminders, and task descriptions into floating desktop panels. Users can customize the panel background color, text color, font family, and font size. This HUD remains visible above other windows when needed, allowing quick reference to written information without opening a separate text editor. It is intended for short notes, checklists, instructions, and recurring reminders that must stay in view during work or study sessions.
  • Excel HUD. The Excel HUD function displays data from Microsoft Excel workbooks as independent desktop panels. It supports single cells, continuous cell ranges, and multiple cells selected with the Ctrl key. The displayed values update live when the source workbook changes. This function serves for tracking key metrics, budgets, schedules, and tables while working in other applications. It removes the need to switch back to Excel repeatedly just to check a number or a small data set.
  • Word HUD. The Word HUD function creates a floating panel from selected text inside a Microsoft Word document. When the original content is edited, added to, or removed, the HUD reflects those changes automatically. This function is intended for keeping paragraphs, clauses, requirements, or reference passages visible while writing, editing, or comparing documents. It helps maintain consistency between separate parts of a document or between multiple documents without constant window switching.
  • Excel and Word Chart HUD. The Excel and Word Chart HUD function displays Office charts independently on the desktop. Charts created in Excel or Word can be detached from their source application and placed anywhere on screen as separate panels. The function includes content zoom controls for adjusting chart size and readability. It is used for monitoring trends, comparing data series, and keeping visual analytics in view during presentations, reporting, or planning activities.
  • Image HUD. The Image HUD function displays common image formats as persistent desktop reference panels. Users can load images such as diagrams, schematics, maps, photos, or scanned documents and keep them visible alongside other applications. The image remains in its own window that can be repositioned and resized. This function suits design work, technical reference, educational tasks, and any scenario where a visual sample must remain on screen.
  • Screenshot HUD. The Screenshot HUD function captures a selected screen region and keeps it visible as a floating HUD panel. The captured area can be recaptured when the underlying content changes, updating the HUD with fresh screen data. This function is intended for monitoring live regions of the screen, such as status indicators, chat areas, or control panels, without keeping the source window in the foreground. It supports repeated capture cycles during long-running tasks.
  • Web HUD. The Web HUD function displays interactive web pages in independent desktop windows. It supports logging into websites, refreshing page content, and adjusting web zoom levels. The HUD remains separate from the main browser, so users can keep a web dashboard, documentation page, or online reference visible while working in other programs. This function is intended for tasks that require continuous access to web-based information without occupying a full browser tab.
  • PDF HUD. The PDF HUD function displays selected PDF pages or page ranges as floating desktop panels. Users can scroll through the displayed pages and adjust content zoom. This function is intended for keeping reference material, contracts, manuals, academic papers, or technical documentation visible while working in other applications. It removes the need to keep a full PDF reader open and switch to it each time a page must be checked.
  • Global HUD controls. The Global HUD controls function shows or hides all active HUD panels at once with a single action. This function is intended for situations where the desktop must be cleared temporarily, such as during screen sharing, presentations, or focused work. When the HUDs are shown again, their positions, sizes, and content remain unchanged. This control simplifies managing many panels without closing or reopening them individually.
  • Pro mode. The Pro mode function removes the application-imposed limit on the number of HUD panels displayed at the same time. Users can open as many HUDs as their system resources allow, combining text, Excel, Word, chart, image, screenshot, web, and PDF panels in a single workspace. This function is intended for complex multi-monitor setups and information-heavy workflows where numerous reference sources must remain visible simultaneously.
  • HUD appearance and positioning. The HUD appearance and positioning function provides controls for moving, resizing, locking, and keeping panels always on top. Each HUD can be placed at a specific screen location, adjusted to a required size, locked to prevent accidental movement, and configured to stay above other windows. These controls apply to every HUD type and support organized desktop layouts across single-monitor and multi-monitor configurations.
  • Language support. The language support function provides the interface in English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese. Users can switch between these languages to match their working environment. This function is intended for international teams, bilingual users, and individuals who prefer to operate the program in their native language while keeping the same set of HUD tools available.

InfoHUD Pro was created by independent developer Adam Yang from Taiwan. The program was first released in 2024 and is written in C# using the .NET framework, with Windows Presentation Foundation for the interface layer and Windows API calls for window management, screen capture, and always-on-top behavior. The developer built the application around the concept of a lightweight desktop information layer that works alongside existing software rather than replacing it.
