Stream player

Stream player — Free Download. IPTV and Streaming

Stream Player is a desktop application for Windows that handles IPTV, HLS, DASH, custom stream headers, playlist management, and DRM playback configuration. The program provides a workspace where you can input direct stream or manifest URLs, select formats like HLS or DASH, and apply advanced network headers. It supports M3U playlists with Kodi-style metadata, ClearKey DRM, and Widevine or PlayReady license server setups. A library feature saves stream profiles and playback history, while theme settings and a modal player with error display complete the core experience.

  • Stream Workspace Setup. The main workspace accepts direct stream or manifest URLs. It auto-detects common formats from the URL and also allows manual selection between Auto-Detect, HLS, and DASH. Validation checks the stream URL and player configuration before playback. A floating Play Now button initiates playback quickly. Recent saved stream shortcuts appear directly in the workspace for repeated access.
  • HLS and DASH Playback. The player supports HLS playlists with .m3u8 extensions and DASH manifests with .mpd extensions. It uses Shaka Player for adaptive streaming. A custom Shaka networking integration handles desktop and Tauri requests. When auto-detection fails, you can override the stream type manually. This ensures compatibility with various streaming sources.
  • Advanced Network Header Support. Custom request headers can be set for stream playback. Dedicated fields exist for Origin, Referer, Cookie, and User-Agent. Extra custom headers follow a Header: Value format. The program can automatically fill headers from pasted cURL commands. It also parses NS Player style URL parameters containing headers and DRM values. Desktop HTTP fetching assists streams requiring special headers.
  • DRM Configuration. A DRM option selector appears in the stream workspace. Options include No DRM, ClearKey inline kid:key, ClearKey server or license URL, Widevine license server, and PlayReady license server. License server URLs, license request headers, certificate URLs, and certificate headers are supported. Advanced Shaka Player JSON or JSON5 overrides are available for fine-tuning.
  • Advanced M3U Playlist Support. Remote M3U playlist URLs can be added and saved. Local .m3u, .m3u8, and .txt playlist files can be loaded. Playlist channels are parsed into a channel grid. Channel name, logo, group, and TVG ID come from #EXTINF attributes. Group filtering uses group-title and #EXTGRP. Channel search works by name, group, and TVG ID. Saved remote playlists can be reloaded. Playlist channels open directly in the built-in player modal.
  • M3U Header Parsing. Kodi and VLC style playlist header metadata are supported. #EXTVLCOPT headers, including referrer or referer options, are parsed. #EXTHTTP header blocks are handled. Pipe headers after a URL, such as User-Agent and Referer metadata, are recognized. Common header aliases include Referer, Referrer, Origin, User-Agent, and Cookie. Unknown custom headers are preserved as request headers.
  • Kodi-Style DRM in M3U. Kodi-style #KODIPROP metadata is supported. ClearKey license type is parsed from playlist items. Inline ClearKey values use keyId:key format. License URL values are parsed when a server-based license is used. Playlist-level stream type hints for DASH, MPD, HLS, and M3U8 are recognized. License header metadata for DRM requests is also supported.
  • Library and History. Stream profiles can be saved for later playback. Saved profiles are stored locally. Recent playback history is kept. Duplicate history entries are prevented by stream configuration signature. The Library page shows saved profiles and recent history. Saved streams or history items can be replayed. Saved profiles can be deleted. Playback history can be cleared.
  • Playlist Library. Playlist names and URLs are saved locally. Saved playlist cards display the playlist source URL. Saved playlists can be deleted. Temporary file-based playlists can be loaded without permanent saving. Remote saved playlists and file playlists are kept separate.
  • Player Experience. The player modal has a rounded design. A close button stays outside the video area in a separate player bar. Dynamic player sizing adapts to detected video dimensions. The layout works in fullscreen. Errors appear inside the player with readable Shaka error information. Player volume is saved and restored. An optional muted playback setting is available. A custom live button integrates with the Shaka UI.
  • Settings. Light and dark themes are supported. The dark mode design has a softer appearance. Light mode design is included. A player muted-by-default preference can be set. Settings are stored locally.
  • UI and Design. The interface uses a glass-style card layout. Sidebar-style navigation organizes the app. The layout responds to different screen sizes. Channel cards show logo, title, and group metadata. Toast notifications appear for actions and errors. Dedicated empty states exist for saved streams, playlists, history, and search results. Visual transitions and rounded interface elements are present.

Stream Player was created by sirat-o as a modified and improved version of MirazMac's Media-Stream-Player project. The original project provided a foundation, and the current version expands on it with additional playlist parsing, DRM configuration, and header management. The program is written primarily in JavaScript and Rust, using Svelte for the frontend and Tauri for the desktop shell. Development began around 2025, with commits visible through 2026. The project remains a focused tool for IPTV and adaptive streaming playback on Windows.
