  • System Cleaner. Scans and removes temporary files, system caches, log files, crash dumps, and other junk data across more than fifteen categories. Before deletion, the user reviews every item grouped by type and location. After cleaning, a receipt documents what was removed, skipped, or failed. This tool addresses the primary cause of gradual disk space loss on active computers.
  • Browser Cleaner. Clears cache, cookies, history, and session data from all major browsers including Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Brave, and Opera. The module detects multiple browser profiles and allows selective cleaning per profile. It removes accumulated web data that consumes storage and can expose browsing activity to other local users.
  • Malware Scanner. Detects malicious software using YARA rule matching and heuristic analysis. The scanner inspects running processes, startup entries, scheduled tasks, and persistence mechanisms. It integrates with Windows Defender for a combined assessment. Detected threats are quarantined, and the quarantine manager allows inspection and restoration of isolated files.
  • Performance Monitor. Displays real-time CPU, memory, disk, and network activity with per-core statistics. The monitor reads S.M.A.R.T. data from connected drives to report health status and predict potential failures. Users observe resource consumption patterns to identify bottlenecks and abnormal behavior without installing separate diagnostic utilities.
  • Startup Manager. Lists every program, service, and scheduled task that launches during system boot. Each entry receives an impact rating based on measured resource usage. The user enables or disables startup items individually. This reduces boot time and prevents unnecessary background processes from consuming memory and CPU cycles.
  • Disk Analyzer. Generates an interactive treemap that visualizes disk space consumption by folder and file type. The user navigates the treemap to locate large files, duplicate content, and empty folders. The analyzer also tracks folder growth over time through storage history snapshots. This reveals which directories expand fastest and require attention.
  • Privacy Shield. Audits and modifies more than thirty privacy-related settings on Windows systems. It controls telemetry, advertising identifiers, Cortana, location tracking, and diagnostic data submission. Each setting includes a description of its function and impact. The user applies recommended configurations with a single action and reverses changes through the Recovery Centre.
  • Software Updater. Scans installed applications for outdated versions across winget, Chocolatey, Scoop, and npm package managers. It lists available updates with version numbers and release information. The user selects which programs to update and performs bulk updates. This closes security vulnerabilities and ensures compatibility with current system libraries.
  • Debloater. Removes more than seventy pre-installed applications from Windows installations. These include promotional games, trial software, and unused system components. The tool categorizes bloatware by publisher and purpose. Removal is reversible through system restore points created before modification. This reduces storage consumption and eliminates unwanted background activity.
  • Registry Cleaner. Scans eight categories of Windows registry issues including orphaned entries, invalid file paths, and broken uninstall records. The cleaner creates an automatic backup before making changes. Users review detected problems and select which entries to repair or remove. This resolves errors that accumulate after software installation and removal cycles.
  • Game Mode. Applies eighteen Windows optimizations for gaming performance with a single toggle. Tweaks address CPU scheduling, GPU priority, background process limitation, and network latency. The mode records every modification and reverses all changes when disabled. Users switch between optimized and standard configurations without manual reconfiguration.
  • Scheduler. Builds automated maintenance workflows with ordered tasks and conditional triggers. Conditions determine when maintenance runs based on system idle time, battery status, or network availability. The scheduler supports daily, weekly, and monthly intervals. Users create multi-step sequences that execute cleaning, scanning, and updating without manual intervention.
  • CLI Mode. Provides full command-line access to all Kudu functions without a graphical interface. System administrators integrate cleaning, scanning, and reporting into scripts and remote management tools. The CLI supports output formatting for parsing and automation. This enables maintenance across multiple machines from a single terminal session.
  • Recovery Centre. Collects records of all system changes made by Kudu tools in one location. Users inspect modifications, review cleanup receipts, and restore eligible settings. The centre tracks registry changes, privacy adjustments, and startup modifications. This provides a safety net when a change produces unwanted results.
  • System Restore Points. Creates Windows restore points before cleaning or optimization operations. The user selects which maintenance actions trigger automatic restore point creation. Points are labeled with timestamps and operation descriptions. This allows complete system rollback if modifications cause instability or data loss.

Kudu Cleaner is developed by Advent Development, Inc., a software company focused on system utilities and maintenance tools. The program was first released in 2023 as an open-source project under the MIT license. Development began as a response to the growing number of paid maintenance suites that included advertising and bundled software. The app is written primarily in Rust for performance-critical components and TypeScript with React for the user interface.
