Copper Goose Network Monitor is a desktop app for Windows 10 and 11 that continuously watches an internet connection while it is idle, builds a baseline of what normal performance looks like for that specific line, and then issues a plain sentence identifying which piece of equipment is at fault when something departs from that baseline. It distinguishes between a weak Wi-Fi link, a router that has stopped responding, an Ethernet cable that has negotiated down to a slower speed, the fibre termination box on the wall, and the service provider’s own line. It records every warning with a timestamp and duration, exports that log as a report, tracks daily and all-time data consumption against a user-defined cap, and displays live upload and download throughput from a tray window.
