  • Automatic Ableton project scanning. MAKID monitors your selected Ableton Live project folders and detects new or updated sessions without manual import. The scan runs in the background and builds a structured index of every set, project file, and associated audio bounce. This removes the need to browse through Finder or File Explorer when searching for a specific version of a track. The index updates whenever files change on disk, so the library reflects the current state of your work.
  • Central searchable project library. All scanned Ableton projects appear in one unified view with sortable columns and a text search field. You can search by project name, folder name, tag, or note content. The library displays metadata such as last modified date, project location, and associated bounces. This consolidates scattered sessions into a single reference point for faster recall.
  • Bounce playback inside the app. MAKID detects exported audio bounces linked to each Ableton project and plays them directly in the desktop application. You can audition a rendered mix, stem, or master without opening Ableton Live or a separate media player. Playback supports standard audio file formats produced by Ableton exports. This function is designed for quick verification of what a specific project version sounds like.
  • Per-project notes and comments. Each project in the MAKID library can hold written notes, mix comments, or reminders. Notes are stored with the project reference and remain visible in both desktop and mobile views. You can write down changes made in a session, feedback from a collaborator, or tasks for the next edit. This keeps contextual information attached to the correct version of a track.
  • Tagging and categorization. MAKID allows assigning custom tags to projects for grouping by genre, mood, client, status, or any other classification. Tags are searchable and filterable within the library. A project can carry multiple tags simultaneously.   • Direct opening of Ableton Live sets. From the MAKID desktop interface, you can launch an Ableton Live set directly in Ableton Live. The application locates the .als file associated with the selected project and sends an open command to the host software. This removes the step of manually navigating to the project folder. The function works when Ableton Live is installed on the same machine as MAKID.
  • Desktop to mobile bounce syncing. With a MAKID Pro or Studio subscription, the desktop app syncs your exported bounces to the companion iOS app. The sync transfers audio files to your phone so you can listen to them away from the studio. Synced bounces remain private and are not published or shared by default. The mobile library mirrors the project structure and notes from the desktop version.
  • iOS review and mobile commenting. The MAKID iOS app provides playback of synced bounces and access to project notes. You can add comments from the phone while listening to a track. These comments sync back to the desktop library and appear attached to the corresponding project. This function supports capturing feedback during commutes, listening sessions outside the studio, or when reviewing with an artist.
  • Privacy and local storage by default. MAKID keeps your project data and audio files on your own devices unless mobile sync is enabled. Nothing is published to a public profile or shared with other users automatically. The application does not require uploading your Ableton projects to a third-party server for desktop-only use.
